A) What is the magnitude of the single straight-line displacement that the pirate could have taken to reach the treasure? Answer in units of m.
B) At what angle with the north would he have to walk? Answer in units of degree.
alright so going north and then east, yo u are going to have a right triangle
just use pythagorean
26.5^2 + 1.4^2 = R^2
and solve for R
to find the angle you can use SOHCAHTOA
theta = inverse tangent of opposite over adjacent
or
theta = inverse tan (1.4/26.5)
