Tallinn City Map

So I’m thinking about going to Tallinn, Estonia?
I am seriously thinking about studying abroad next Spring at the Tallinn University of Technology. However, I really want to live in the big city scene.
Their website told me that the campus is just over 3 miles from the city center. So how urban is the area around the campus?
Maps and pictures would help as well. Thanks!
lots of bars and clubs, lots of tourists, lots of history. It may not be as big as NYC but the old town is an awesome place to party, and with great scenery. As much fun as tallinn is though, the university of Tartu is much more respected and you would get a higher quality of education there. Im not sure if your school’s study abroad program has the option of going there but if it does, you should certainly consider it. tartu has about 100k people as opposed to tallinn’s 500k, but tartu is known as a “college town”, and there are far less tourists there and prices are generally cheaper ( and cheaper means 2 dollars a beer at a bar in the heart of the city as opposed to 3 dollars, so its pretty good either way considering you could easily pay 8+ in midtown Manhattan). Tartu has its fair share of bars clubs and restaurants but tallinn clearly has more.
Google images and maps should do the job as far as pictures and maps go

Cabbages KingsA Kids Guide to Tallinn, Estonia $23.09 The first traces of human settlement found in Tallinn s city center by archeologists are about 5000 years old. The comb ceramic pottery found on the site dates to about 3000 BC and corded ware pottery c. 2500 BC. Then in 1154 a town called Qlwn (or Qalaven) was put on the world map of the Almoravid by the cartographer Muhammad alIdrisi who described it as a small town like a large castle among the towns of Astlanda. John D. Weigand and Penelope Dyan went to the town of Tallinn, Estonia and would agree the cartographer s description is very accurate when it comes to this town because it is exactly like stepping into a castle province, and you can imagine it exactly as it once was, a place of cabbages and kings. This is a place for a child to fire up the imagination inside, to hear music, to eat candied almonds sold in little bags on the street, to watch archers with bows take aim at targets, and to walk among green paths, cobblestones and flowers.
