Proportional Circle Maps

proportional circle maps
As part of data presentation, what are proportional circles and arrows??

this is for a geogrpahy project, “Include proportional circles and arrows to show where people have visited lincoln from”
so i assume you draw them on maps, could someone tell me what they are and how to draw them?

I’m pretty sure that just means make sure everything is proportion in the distance it means. So it you are showing ex. 30 miles in one arrow and 30 in another it needs to be the same length. If your showing 30 in one and 60 in another, it needs to be double.

I also found this website (college level) with a similar project to yours so it may help. It says to not just guess the size of your circles but to do it mathematically.

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Mixed member proportional representation, also termed mixedmember proportional voting and commonly abbreviated to MMP, is an additional member voting system used to elect representatives to numerous legislatures around the world. MMP is similar to other forms of proportional representation (PR) in that the overall total of party members in the elected body is intended to mirror the overall proportion of votes received; it differs by including a set of members elected by geographic constituency who are deducted from the party totals so as to maintain overall proportionality. Therefore, the additional party seats are compensatory: they top up the local results. In Germany MMP is called personalized proportional representation as distinct from the PR system used before MMP superseded it. In Quebec, where an MMP model is currently being debated, it is called the compensatory mixed member voting system (systme mixte avec compensation, or SMAe. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Partylist proportional representation systems are a family of voting systems emphasizing proportional representation (PR) in elections returning multiple candidates (e.g. elections to parliament). They can also be used as part of mixed additional member systems. In these systems, parties make lists of candidates to be elected, and seats get allocated to each party in proportion to the number of votes the party receives. Voters may vote directly for the party, as in Israel, for candidates and that vote will pool to the party, as in Turkey and Finland, or for a list of candidates, as in Hong Kong.
