New laws in michigan regarding pain meds..?

I have a couple of questions…I live in Michigan and was told today that there is a new law passed in Michigan this year about CIII and CIIII narcotics. It is called MAPS does anyone know the details of it? Also if you have a refill on a narcotic how many times can you transfer it to a different pharmacy? If you have health plan of Michigan do you have to use it or can you choose to pay cash? I have a refill for vicodin left from my old doctor and got a new and different perscription from my new dr. can I legally have them both filled and since I have the health plan of Michigan can I use it for both meds or do I have to pay cash for one or with the new MAPS program is it going to be possible at all to get them both filled???

As I understand the MAPS system, every time you submit a prescription that is subject to MAPS, the pharmacy runs it through to make sure you are not doctor shopping so you can stock up on narcotics. If you have gone to the well too many times then you’ll be cut off.
