Lake District Ward

What parts of New Orleans are safest to live in? Algiers? Metarie? others?
I’m looking to move there soon. Is north of the lake viable, commuting to the city? Is it better to be upriver or downriver from the Quarter and Garden District? I know there are some notorious areas (9th Ward for example) but what about other areas…Gentilly? KEnner? Braithwaite? Is St Bernard Parish better than Jefferson Parish better than Orleans Parish? Algiers? Metarie? I’m flying sort of blind here…your help is appreciated.
Well it depends on what you do for a living. If what you plan on doing involves being downtown then the northshore is kind of a far drive.(30-45 mins.) I live in Metairie and its a nice place to live. Its only about 10-15 mins from downtown. Traffic can and will be a nightmare at rush hour time. St. Bernard is nice its about the same commute time as Metairie. Kenner is basically just like Metairie except for the houses are just a little bit older but its just about the same type of commute and city. If your looking for more of a historic New Orleans looking home then Gentilly is the way to go but they’re out of the way. If I were you I would definetly go Jefferson Parish. Its not as expensive as Orleans parish. But like I said it kind of depends on where you plan on working.
I HOPE T HELPS!!!!!
