Wugeo, Maps $68.51 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles WuGeo is a Python library used to draw points on geographical maps, starting from latitude and longitude. It borns from the desire to track site visitors, then becomes an abstract library, being a scientific generic tool. In particular, WuGeo has to be used with world maps created with the Miller cylindrical projection, that is a modified Mercator projection. The Mercator projection is a cylindrical map projection presented by the Flemish geographer and cartographer Gerardus Mercator, in 1569. It became the standard map projection for nautical purposes because of its ability to represent lines of constant course, known as rhumb lines or loxodromes, as straight segments. While the linear scale is constant in all directions around any point, thus preserving the angles and the shapes of small objects (which makes the projection conformal), the Mercator projection distorts the size and shape of large objects, as the scale increases from the Equator to the poles, where it becomes infinite. SemiRiemannian Maps and Their Applications $269.24 A major flaw in semiRiemannian geometry is a shortage of suitable types of maps between semiRiemannian manifolds that will compare their geometric properties. Here, a class of such maps called semiRiemannian maps is introduced. The main purpose of this book is to present results in semiRiemannian geometry obtained by the existence of such a map between semiRiemannian manifolds, as well as to encourage the reader to explore these maps. The first three chapters are devoted to the development of fundamental concepts and formulas in semiRiemannian geometry which are used throughout the work. In Chapters 4 and 5 semiRiemannian maps and such maps with respect to a semiRiemannian foliation are studied. Chapter 6 studies the maps from a semiRiemannian manifold to 1dimensional semi Euclidean space. In Chapter 7 some splitting theorems are obtained by using the existence of a semiRiemannian map. Audience: This volume will be of interest to mathematicians and physicists whose work involves differential geometry, global analysis, or relativity and gravitation. International Perspectives on Maps and the Internet $360.72 The Internet has redefined how maps are used. No longer restricted to paper, maps are now transmitted almost instantly and delivered to the user in a fraction of the time required to distribute maps on paper. They are viewed in a more timely fashion. The Internet presents the map user with both a faster method of map distribution and different forms of mapping. This book provides an international perspective on this growing area of information dissemination. Author: Peterson, Michael P. Object Segmentation in Depth Maps $132.24 There are algorithms used for segmenting objects in images, and most of them can provide good quality segmentation results. In this book, we select the most popular segmentation algorithms and apply them to segment depth maps of stereo video sequences for driver assistance. The goal is to segment the potential threatening objects from the background and warn the driver about the potential accident and assist the driver with driving task under the critical situation. People who are interested in the topics of object segmentation, object segmentation in depth maps and driver assistance may want to read this book. Dynamics of OneDimensional Maps $189.58 The theory of onedimensional systems is one of the most efficient tools of nonlinear dynamics, as, on the one hand, it describes onedimensional systems fairly completely, and on the other hand exhibits all basic complicated nonlinear effects. This volume has two main goals. Firstly, it acquaints the reader with the fundamentals of the theory of onedimensional dynamical systems. Very simple nonlinear maps with a single point of extremum, also called unimodal maps, are studied. Unimodality is found to impose hardly any restrictions on the dynamical behaviour. Secondly, it equips the reader with a comprehensive view of the problems appearing in the theory of dynamical systems and describes the methods used for their solution in the case of onedimensional maps. Audience: This book will be of interest to researchers and postgraduate students whose work involves nonlinear dynamics. Author: Sharkovsky, A. N./ Kolyada, S. F./ Sivak, A. G. SurfaceBased Synthesis of 3D Maps $181.62 This book presents the theoretical and practical development of a new algorithm for generating full 3D surface maps of prior unknown and unstructured environments. It introduces methods for extraction of surfaces from 3D range images, homogenization of representations of irregularly sampled surfaces, alignment of set of surfaces relative to the map and consistent unification of the same objects overlapping surfaces. The presented surfacebased map of the environment is built incrementally. The resulting map represents the environment via set of individual surfaces. Objects in the map are represented via their exact shapes. The presented mapping technique is illustrated in the context of mobile robotics application. The book also includes the flow charts of the introduced algorithms for online implementation. Therefore, the book will serve as a useful reference for online mapping applications. The resulting full 3D map can be used in a wide variety of navigation applications, including path planning and collision avoidance. National Geographic Maps NGMRE01020557 Beginners World Map $37.47 Educators Resource offers products for preK8 learning materials and educational toys used by schools teachers parents and children. This is a very exciting year for National Geographic Maps as we are launching our new series of maps designed specifically for the kids. Our new gradedseries of maps are the first to address the unique needs of K12 students as they advance their understanding of our World.Unlike other classroom poster maps ours utilize the WinkelTriple projection which provides the best combination of size shape and distance giving the student the best visual representation of the Earth s surface. This solves the effect seen on other maps where Greenland appears larger than South America. Our new maps start early elementary kids off right. Our Beginner Series grades K3 contains an easy to read maps of the World and United States. Scale = 1:30 000 000 |

Segmentation and Visualization of Volume Maps. $115.71 Volume data is a simple and oftenused representation for exchanging and processing data in various scientific domains, such as medicine and molecular biology. The segmentation of volume data is an essential part of data interpretation. Researchers have extensively studied the problem of segmentation focusing on efficient algorithms for segmenting and rendering volumes. Our contribution is twofold. First, we propose a trilinear classification method that can implemented on the GPU to reduce artifacts and jaggedness along the material boundaries that appear when rendering segmented volumes. Our representation provides subvoxel accuracy for representing segmented materials. Second, we demonstrate our interactive paintingbased segmentation tool, which can be used to rapidly produce an intuitive segmentation. We compare our tool against known results and show that we can generate similar segmentations using a simple and intuitive control scheme.
