American Territorial Losses

American Territorial Losses
Would Israel be able to handle a simultaneous Third Intifada, and Hezbollah and Syrian War?

…this is assuming that Israel doesn’t get any help from the Americans. Territorial loss seems likely in such a scenario.
Given that Israel’s Lebanon confrontation produced no results, such a hypothetical war could be devastating if Iran also fires rockets into Israel. I still think the US should remain neutral if this happens.
Shay: do you mean to say that you think Israel would win such a war, leaving Syria and Lebanon both destroyed, and mandatory deportation of the Palestinians? I think the former is rather unlikely.

PS: Does anyone know if Shay is a man or a woman? I really can’t tell from his/her profile picture, LOL.

Hmm, lemme see, Iran, with Lebanon, with Hamas, and maybe with Syria, against Israel, all at one time?
There’d be damage.

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. This is a simplified list of United States territorial acquisitions, beginning with American independence. Note that this list primarily concerns land acquired from other nationstates; the numerous territorial acquisitions from American Indians are not listed here. The 1783 Treaty of Paris with Great Britain defined the original borders of the United States. Due to ambiguities in the treaty, the ownership of Machias Seal Island and North Rock remains disputed between the U.S. and Canada; other original territorial ambiguities (including the Northeastern Boundary Dispute and the disputed Indian Stream territory) were resolved by the WebsterAshburton Treaty in 1842.The Louisiana Purchase, completed in 1803, was negotiated by Robert Livingston during the presidency of Thomas Jefferson; the territory was acquired from France for 15,000,000 (equivalent to 219 million in present day terms). United States Submarine Losses: World War II

United States Submarine Losses: World War II

$45.45

United States submarines compiled a tremendous record of achievement during World War II, but they paid heavily for their successes. A total of 52 submarines were lost, including 48 sunk directly or indirectly by enemy action. The personnel losses 374 officers and 3,131 operational enlisted men represented 16 percent of the officers and 13 percent of the enlisted men in the silent service. Although relatively meager compared to Germanys losses of 700 to 800 subs and the 128 lost by Japan, this roll call of honor was still higher than that for other types of Allied ships. Three valuable appendices list the subs lost by Germany, Japan, and Italy. United States Submarine Losses: World War II is a shipbyship description of each American sub lost at sea, including as many facts as can be determined regarding the circumstances of their sinking, as well as brief accounts of the combat accomplishments of each vessel and a list of their crew members at the time of their loss. These concise vignettes cover some of the most renowned submarines of the war, such as the Tang, which in its five patrols was credited with sinking 31 Japanese ships totaling 227,800 tons and damaging two, for a total of 4,100 tons a record unexcelled among American subs. Some ships gained fame in the Navy for other reasons, such as the five Japanese destroyers sunk by the Harder four on one patrol earning the reputation of being the Submarine Forces most terrible opponent of destroyers. This important book serves as a valuable reference work, an account of the often heroic efforts of U.S. Navy submarines in World War II, and a memorial tribute to the submariners who gave their lives for their country. 1946; reprinted 1963: 248 pages, ill. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Territorial waters, or a territorial sea, as defined by the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, is a belt of coastal waters extending at most twelve nautical miles from the baseline (usually the mean lowwater mark) of a coastal state. The territorial sea is regarded as the sovereign territory of the state, although foreign ships (both military and civilian) are allowed innocent passage through it; this sovereignty also extends to the airspace over and seabed below. NonNewtonian Losses Through Diaphragm Valves

NonNewtonian Losses Through Diaphragm Valves

$189.58

The prediction of head losses in a pipe system is very important because head losses affect the performance of fluid machinery such as pumps. In a pipe system, two kinds of losses are observed: major losses and minor losses. In Newtonian and nonNewtonian flow, major losses are those that are due to friction in straight pipes and minor losses are those that are due to pipe fittings. Minor losses must be accurately predicted in a pipe system because they are not negligible and can sometimes outweigh major losses. There is presently little data for the prediction of nonNewtonian head losses in pipe fittings in the literature and little consensus amongst researchers. In the case of diaphragm valves, usually, only one loss coefficient value is given in turbulent flow or in laminar flow with no reference to a specific size of the valve, assuming geometrical similarity that would lead to dynamic similarity. However, no one has done a systematic study of various sizes of diaphragm valves from the same manufacturer to establish if this is true. This could be the main reason for discrepancies found in the literature This work addresses this issue.
